Pizza Wars: New Survey Reveals Surprising Winner for America’s Best Pizza City
When it comes to pizza, everyone has their favorite spot, but a recent survey by Clever Real Estate has shaken up the pizza landscape. The survey, which explored the best cities for pizza across America’s largest metro areas, has crowned a surprising winner: Denver, Colorado.
While New York City, particularly Staten Island, has long been hailed as the pizza capital of America, the survey’s findings suggest otherwise. Denver claimed the top spot, with Buffalo, New York, following closely behind in second place. Shockingly, New York City ranked a modest 15th on the list.
So, why Denver? According to the survey, Denver boasts an impressive average rating of 4.05 stars out of 5 on Yelp, making it one of the highest-rated pizza cities in the country. Additionally, Denver’s pizza scene is praised for its affordability, offering delicious pies at reasonable prices.
While New York City may have the reputation for the best pizza, the survey reveals that only 41% of Americans consider it a top-five pizza city, placing it ahead of Chicago. Moreover, New York City is ranked as the priciest city for grabbing a pie, with average prices for a large cheese pizza at $28.60 and a large pepperoni pizza at $33.65.
On the flip side, the survey identified Memphis, Tennessee, as the city with the worst-ranked pizza, closely followed by San Antonio, Texas.
